Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is the second entry in the legendary vampire-hunting series for the Nintendo DS. Set during World War II in 1944, it continues the story from Castlevania: Bloodlines and follows two protagonists—Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin—as they attempt to stop a vampire artist named Brauner from using magical paintings to resurrect Dracula's castle. 

Key Features

• Dual-Character System: Players can switch freely between Jonathan (a whip-wielding physical fighter) and Charlotte (a powerful mage) at any time. You can also summon your partner to fight alongside you or perform "Dual Crush" cooperative attacks.
• Portrait Exploration: Instead of just exploring one castle, you jump into magical paintings that serve as portals to diverse environments like Egyptian deserts, misty towns, and nightmare-themed circuses.
• Quest System: For the first time in the series, you can complete specific side quests given by a ghost named "Wind" to unlock new skills and equipment.
• Multiplayer Modes: The game was the first in the franchise to include cooperative multiplayer, allowing two players to tackle Boss Rush mode together via local wireless or Wi-Fi.
• Unlockable Content: After beating the main story, you can unlock additional play modes, including "Richter Mode" (playing as Richter Belmont and Maria Renard) and "Old Axe Armor Mode".
